Gremlins in the Garden

splat2.jpgYou know, you try and live cleanly, peacefully and with an open heart, but sometimes you lock horns with a troublemaker and things can feel really tough.

What am I talking about? It's the personal ecology thing again. You try and keep things nice and then some nasty piece of work comes and tramples on your flowers. It feels beyond your control, but so long as you are focused on what you can do to get through, you'll be fine.

So what can you do to protect yourself when someone in your life is making trouble?

1. Respect Yourself
To tolerate an insult once is their problem, but if you tolerate it repeatedly, then you are insulting yourself.

2. Cherish Your Values
Hold firm to what you know to be right. You might not be able to wield the sword of justice and create the outcome you desire - but you can stand firm for your truths and refuse to be compromised.

3. Nourish Yourself
Take time out to breath and get centered, take a shower and wash it all away, or take time out with a guided relaxation exercise and give yourself some TLC.

You can't change the weather, but you don't have to stand out in the storm, take cover, keep warm and dry and know that nothing ever stays the same, the weather will change in it's own good time and while you're waiting you can use time wisely, and plant some seeds of self-care.

Take care - you're worth it!
